Summary:
Working under the guidance of the Senior Manager of Communications and the
Director of Marketing and Business Development, the Communications Manager has Law Firm-wide responsibility for developing and executing an effective external and internal communications program to raise the visibility of the Law Firm with key journalists, alumni, clients, prospects and internal audiences.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Senior Manager of Communications and works closely with all members of the Marketing Department. Interacts frequently with legal and non-legal personnel across all Law Firms' offices, as well as external constituencies at media outlets and other organizations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Primary:
Develops written communications plans to raise the Law Firm's general visibility and its profile in key practice areas. Also helps to define communications policies and protocols for all lawyers and staff to follow.
Tracks and monitors all media coverage of the Law Firm and develops relevant reports for senior management and partners.
On a day-to-day basis, the Communications Manager will be responsible for strategic counsel, execution of the press plan, identification of media opportunities relevant to the Law Firm, and its practice areas. In addition, garnering tangible placements in the appropriate media outlets, article conceptualization, strategic writing of press releases, and memos; media preparation documents.
Helps to prepare partners for all media interviews; interface with partners on a regular basis as well as keep abreast of industry trends, deal information, and newsworthy client work in order to promote the Law Firm and increase its external visibility.
Liaises with and assists in managing all PR agency, consultant and vendor relationships that the Law Firm maintains.
Recommends and drafts relevant updates and press highlights for the Law Firm's public web site.
Oversees the quarterly updating of key Law Firm materials including Law Firm and practice group fact sheets.
Provides editorial guidance and leads development of awards nominations, directories submissions, surveys, advertisements and other recognition opportunities.
Manages a robust internal communications program. Drives the aggregation and creation of new content and materials (both electronic and in print).
Continually seeks new ideas to improve the Law Firm's media relations, thought leadership, internal communications and social media programs by monitoring competitors; gathering samples from other organizations; reviewing various web sites and periodicals that discuss
Best Practices for all such communications.
Researches business trends and developments related to Law Firm practice areas. Develops and executes thought leadership plans involving a range of marketing and communications tactics to position the Law Firm and its key partners as experts.
Helps to develop and maintain social media protocols that promote the Law Firm's branding, thought leadership and business development efforts.
Works with operational functions such as Human Resources, Information Services, Benefits,
Attorney Recruitment & Development and Diversity & Inclusion to plan and execute targeted communications campaigns, projects and ongoing programs as needed.
Secondary:
Supervises and is responsible for the training and performance review of junior staff.
Extended hours are required - both early morning and evening - to accommodate the schedules of partners, journalists and others. This position is responsible for many time sensitive, deadline-driven projects and requires flexibility.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education:
Undergraduate degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or
Marketing required; an advanced business degree or legal degree is desirable.
Experience:
At least 5-6 years of relevant communications or PR experience in a professional services or agency environment. Prior law Law Firm experience is desirable.
Skills and Abilities:
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; ability to work well in a team environment consisting of attorneys, other professionals and administrative support; ability to act in a professional manner at all times; ability to act with a high degree of integrity and maintain confidentiality; ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments; ability to work under pressure with interruptions and tight deadlines.
Attendance:

Technological Skills
: Proficiency with various software programs such as Outlook, Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, and use of the Internet.

NOTE:
Two written references to support candidate are required to be submitted to Client.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
