To support this, we are currently looking for a AVP, PMO. The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Project Management Office (PMO) will serve as a senior program manager driving a large Cross-platform Underwriting Modernization initiative primarily focused on implementing Guidewire's industry-leading underwriting software solutions and other integrated components to meet the fast-growing needs of our Underwriting business units. The AVP, PMO will be responsible for the overall program-level delivery of planning, design, configuration and integration of Guidewire Policy Center (PC), Underwriting Management (UM) applications in a complex, integrated technology environment. The AVP, PMO is responsible for managing end-to-end Guidewire Policy Center and Underwriting Management product implementation and integration with other enterprise applications. This candidate will manage and lead the overall solution design and delivery through coordinating with all stakeholders, internal/external resources and onshore / offshore development teams for scheduling and managing assigned tasks and milestones. The AVP, PMO will report to VP, Head of PMO, Global Business Systems within Everest Technology Services. In this role, the individual will be responsible for managing a team of senior and project managers and grooming junior-level project managers as well. This individual will also support the Head of PMO in other PMO functions such as budgeting, demand and capacity planning, resource management, PM methodologies and best practices. This position will be considered as potential successor to the Head of PMO based on demonstrated performance and leadership capabilities. Responsibilities Lead the overall requirements review, assessment and high level and detailed sizing of required configuration and technical effort. Communicate with business analysts to interpret, clarify and plan for the implementation of user stories. Conduct and lead joint design sessions to help coach solutioning the end product and to capture sizing information required for resourcing and scheduling. Lead and manage the technical design and specifications in line with traceable user-stories / requirements and according to Guidewire and development best-practices. Manage the design, development and implementation of appropriate application program interfaces (API) to integrate with both internal and external applications for a fully-integrated end-to-end process and data flows. Establish sound working relationships with Business Analysis and Quality Assurance Teams to ensure that priorities are reviewed and agreed-upon and that development activities are reviewed and planned for accordingly. Manage resource capacity, project allocations as well as financials for Guidewire Policy Center and Underwriting Management implementations. Responsible for resource management (including hiring, training, guiding, capacity management, etc.) for Guidewire Policy Center and UM resources. Manage vendor relationships and contracts for licensing, professional services and contract resources. Required Skills Experience and hands-on implementation with Guidewire Policy Center integrations and integration patterns is highly preferred. Experience is required with application lifecycle best-practices in managing code versioning (and associated environments), integration, releasing and maintaining Guidewire Policy Center products (during development and in production as technical owner of the platform). Knowledge of secure software development practices and expert understanding of architectural standards, patterns and best-practices with respect to Guidewire configuration and integration is required. Knowledge of Commercial P&C insurance highly preferred. Experience with managing budgets, financials, contracts as well as vendor relationships are required. Experience managing multiple implementation programs with a disciplined approach to resource allocations, planning and organizing parallel end-to-end teams is required. Experience with functional / vertical as well as horizontal / matrix implementation and resource management is required. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Comfort with ambiguity and ability to navigate through and lead teams to solutioning. Experienced with Agile SCRUM methodology and tooling (TFS, Rally, JIRA, etc.) in a technical owner / development track lead capacity. Qualifications Extensive experience implementing Guidewire Policy Center (version 9 or above) as a Project Manager with end-to-end integrations (Professional Liability experience strongly preferred). 5
years of experience leading and managing onshore / offshore development teams (20
in size) for one or multiple Guidewire product implementations. 5
years of experience in Guidewire Software Suite of applications. 15
years of general IT project management experience managing diverse team of resources in multiple technology areas.
Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
Minimum Qualification
Technical Product Management, Technology ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
